비용 관리 도구들은 하나의 제품이 아니라, 지출을 보여주는 방식이 서로 다른 여러 개의 관리형 대시보드·알림 도구 묶음입니다. 가계부 앱(Cost Explorer, 추세와 예측), 카드 한도 초과 문자(Budgets, 한도 초과 알림), 상세 명세서(Cost and Usage Report, 원본 청구 데이터)를 각자 다른 목적으로 쓰는 것과 같습니다.

Cost Explorer는 지출을 분석·예측하고, AWS Budgets는 예산 초과를 알리며, Cost and Usage Report는 상세 청구 데이터를 제공합니다. 시험에서는 셋을 목적별로 구분합니다.
동작 원리 / How it works
Cost Explorer는 과거 지출을 차원(서비스·계정·태그·리전)별로 쪼개 보고 향후 12개월을 예측합니다. AWS Budgets는 금액·사용량·RI 활용률에 예산을 걸어 초과 시 또는 초과 예측 시 알림을 보내고, 작업(SCP 적용, 인스턴스 중지)까지 연결할 수 있습니다. Cost and Usage Report는 시간 단위 원시 청구 데이터를 S3에 내려 Athena·QuickSight로 직접 분석하게 합니다.
비용 배분 태그를 활성화하면 이 모든 도구에서 부서·프로젝트별 분해가 가능해집니다.

동작 원리 / How it works
Cost Explorer breaks historical spend down by dimension (service, account, tag, Region) and forecasts twelve months ahead. AWS Budgets sets budgets on amount, usage, or RI utilisation, alerting when exceeded or forecast to exceed, and can trigger actions such as applying an SCP or stopping instances. The Cost and Usage Report delivers hourly raw billing data to S3 for direct analysis in Athena or QuickSight.
Activating cost allocation tags makes per-department and per-project breakdowns available across all of them.
